South Coast Tai Chi Club’s mission is to promote Tai Chi to the general public. We are honored to organize the yearly World Tai Chi Day event at South Coast Chinese Cultural Center (SCCCC). This will be our 3rd consecutive year of organizing this meaningful event. We have had great participation the last two years even though it was during the most difficult COVID-19 pandemic period.

This year we would like to enhance the event by inviting all Tai Chi friends to participate in a Performance Competition. You are invited to submit your application online with a 1 min sample video for prequalification. Six individuals and six teams will be selected to enter the finalists competition in-person on World Tai Chi Day. The following are some guidelines and rules for the Performance Competition:

1. Prequalifying: Complete an online Application Form and submit a 1 minute sample video of your performance by March 31, 2023 (The video should be taken within three months)
• Register using Google Forms
2. Prequalifying Fee: Free
3. Finalists: 6 individuals and 6 teams will be selected and notified on April 5, 2023 to enter the Finalists Competition.
4. Finalists Entry Fee: $20 per individual, $35 per team, or $50 for teams with 8 participants or more. Payment is to be made payable to SCCCA by April 12, 2023.
5. Location: South Coast Chinese Cultural Center, 9 Truman, Irvine, CA 92620
6. Competition Date and Time: World Tai Chi Day, 9 am – 12 pm, Saturday, April 29, 2023
7. Time Limit for Each Performance: 3-5 minutes.
8. Form: Participants must clearly list the form/style they want to perform on their application form in advance.
9. Awards:
• First Tier of Performance (2 for individual, 2 for team)
• Second Tier of Performance (2 for individual, 2 for team)
• Third Tier of Performance (2 for individual, 2 for team)
• Best Synchronization for Team (1)
• Best Costume
10. Dress Code: Traditional Tai Chi Uniform or Team Uniforms
11. Check-in: Competitor(s) must check-in by 9:00 am on Competition Day.
12. The Judges have the authority to check any of the weapons for safety
13. Weapons that hit, slam, or scrape the floor as part of the routine will result in an automatic disqualification.
14. Unsportsmanlike conduct by any competitor, or the use of abusive language, will result in disqualification of the competitor with NO REFUND.

世界太極日表演賽開始報名

2023世界太極日訂於4月29日（星期六）上午9時至中午12時，在南海岸中華文化中心體育館舉行，今年除了愛好太極人士一起練太極拳之外，將舉辦太極拳表演賽，通過初賽選拔出個人組及團體組前六名參加4月29日的太極拳表演賽。

參加初賽選拔的個人或團體，必須在3月31日前提交一分鐘的太極拳或兵器示範視頻，由裁判選出個人組及團體組前六名，優勝名單將在4月5日公布，並獲邀參加2023世界太極日表演賽。有關太極拳初賽及表演賽詳情，可查閱南海岸太極拳友會網站Southcoasttaichi.club，或洽電郵taichiclub@sccca.org，及電話 949-559-6868。
