The Chinese Children's Library hosts complimentary Chinese storytelling sessions and parent-child cultural craft classes every Sunday. Parents are encouraged to accompany their preschool-aged siblings to participate together. Advance registration is necessary.

Information Session for Parents of Middle/High School Freshmen (Parents of current 6th-8th grade students are welcome to attend)
初高中新生家長說明會（歡迎目前6-8年級學生家長參加） Acknowledging the diverse family backgrounds and learning objectives of students, as they progress into middle and high school, they will adapt their learning strategies and depart from past models. This information session will concentrate on introducing the ICS middle/high school program, plus the AP Chinese exam and extracurricular credit courses, along with presenting middle and high school curricula and textbooks. Parents are encouraged to accompany their children to the seminar. |

Answer: When it comes to activities, participating in sports games may seem like a quick thrill, but mastering Chinese is a journey that requires time and dedication. Unlike signing up for talent classes, quitting halfway through Chinese learning only makes it harder to pick up again. If parents create a supportive environment and motivate their children to persist, complete their weekly assignments, and most importantly, nurture their interest in listening and speaking Chinese, learning the language won't feel like a chore. As children grow, they'll surely recognize and value their parents' unwavering support and commitment to their Chinese education.

問：我的孩子週末非常忙碌，我們希望他上中文學校，但不定時又有球賽需要請假, 孩子學習狀況不佳, 也不願做功課, 我們應該堅持下去嗎 ?
答：參加球賽只是一時的活動，而學習中文則是一條漫長的道路。學習中文不同於參加才藝班，一旦中途放棄，重返這條路就顯得更加困難。如果父母能以鼓勵的態度支持孩子堅持下去，努力完成每週的功課，更重要的是幫助孩子保持對聽、說中文的意願和興趣，不要讓學習中文成為一件「苦差事」。等到孩子長大成熟，他們必定會理解並感激父母對自己中文教育堅定不移的支持和承諾。 |

The South Coast Chinese Cultural Association (SCCCA) is an educational and cultural charity organization spontaneously formed by Chinese in Southern California. Not only did SCCCA establish the largest scale Irvine Chinese School in Southern California in 1976, it also gathered the strength of the Chinese community in 2005 and established independently the only South Coast Chinese Cultural Center in Southern California dedicated to promoting traditional Chinese culture and Chinese learning and advocating and realizing a multicultural life."
