Enrichment Program: Chess
The enrichment class for this week is Chess. Students learned about the basic skills and the beginnings/middle of chess. They also learned about how to develop variations. The students learned the Ruy Lopez Opening as one of the most used beginnings in Chess. To test their abilities, the teacher hosted small tournaments in class on Friday for each student.

在這週的豐富營,孩⼦們學習了西洋棋的基本知 識-開局及中局的技巧。⽼師們教會了他們不同 的變化局勢及技巧和要領，在這之中Ruy Lopez Opening是最常⽤的國際象棋開局技法之⼀。為了實踐他們在這週的所學,週五有⼀場有趣好玩的⽐賽。
Cultural Workshop: Opera
The theme of 205 and 206 this week is opera. The students of 205 got to know Sheng(men), dan(women), Jing(fierce men), and Chou(joker) in Peking Opera, as well as the meanings of different costumes, masks, colors and personalities. The students of 206 listened to the stories about the Legend of the White Snake, and used the colors they learned before to get to know the character green snake and the white snake. They also reviewed the Chinese style gardens they studied last week and learned about the pine trees, bamboo, and plum blossoms. The theme of 207 this week is the traditional city wall and tower. Related to the traditional garden they learned last week, they learned the ancient structure of walls and towers.This includes some famous buildings, such as the Great wall of China and the Taipei 101. They also studied the poem and vocabulary such as building(樓), tower(塔), and city(城). For example the poem Climbing White Stork Tower(登鸛雀樓) etc. On Friday they had a shadow play with the story of “the old man on the bridge”
⽂化⼯作坊: 戲曲
205和206教室本週的主題是戲曲，205的學⽣們認識了京劇裡的⽣旦淨丑以及不同服裝，臉譜，顏⾊所代表的 含意。206的學⽣則聽了有關⽩蛇傳的故事，並且運⽤之前學習過的顏⾊認識了⻘蛇和⽩蛇，還透過⽩蛇傳接觸到了京劇臉譜相關的⽂化以及其他⺠間故事。他們複習了上週學習的園林，並觀看了松樹、⽵⼦和梅花。207本週的主題是城樓。與上週學習的園林連接，他們學習了⼀些傳統的城樓結構以及有名的建築，⽐如萬⾥⻑城還有台北101。也學習了跟樓、塔、城有關的詩詞和單字，例如《登鸛雀樓》等。在週五，學生們⽤橋上⽼⼈的故事演了⼀齣⽪影戲。
