North Orange County Children's Choir was established in 1989, and changed its name in 2005 to New Orange County Children's Choir (NOCCC).
NOCCC is a state registered, non-profit organization, with the goals of providing learning and performing opportunities as well as promoting artistic appreciation of choral singing among our youngsters.
The choir has about 140 members, ages six and up, from throughout Orange and Los Angeles Counties, and over the past thirty years, more than 1500 children have been a part of the NOCCC family. Rehearsals are held every Friday evening at the South Coast Chinese Cultural Center in Irvine. A grand finale showcasing all groups is regularly presented during our annual concert in June.
Generous financial support from our sponsors allows us to perform in many special choral concerts and hold seasonal gatherings such as picnics, talent shows, holiday parties, and family concerts, as well as music camps for our more advanced groups.

For the past three decades, NOCCC has been active in community and cultural events and performances throughout the Orange County area. NOCCC has performed at Barclay Theater in Irvine and Segerstrom Hall in Costa Mesa. Major events that NOCCC has participated in include the City of Irvine Winter Wonderland and Joyful Jingle concerts; the South Coast Chinese Cultural Association/Irvine Chinese School Benefit Concert and Lantern Festivals; and, for twenty four consecutive years, the Summer Sunday Afternoon concerts at the Richard Nixon Presidential Library.
Additionally, NOCCC has hosted five Joint Concerts of Southern California children's choruses, and taken part in many Joint Choral Concerts with local adult choruses as well as overseas children’s choruses.
Our music curriculum includes basic vocal and choral technique, rhythm and ear training, sight singing, and music appreciation. In order to facilitate progressive and complete choral training, members sing in one of five groups. While younger singers are musically motivated in the fun atmosphere of Preparatory Group, older choristers move on to receive formal choral training in the Junior and Intermediate Groups. Concert Group and Ensemble Group then provide advanced choral training to qualified members. It is our ultimate goal that, through this progressive training program, all of our members will enjoy a fun-filled musical childhood and continue to participate in choral singing in the future.
For thirty two years, the professional guidance of our music directors and teachers, unconditional support of our sponsors, devoted involvement of our parents, and ardent spirit of our members have enabled us to advance closer and closer towards our goals. 橙音兒童合唱團的前身為北橙縣兒童合唱團。創辦人陳立偉，1989 年四月成立於加州橙縣橙市，是經加州政府立案核准的非營利公益教育團體。
2005 年本團遷址到加州爾灣市，更名為橙音兒童合唱團（NOCCC）。 本團成立的宗旨在於提供社區青少年及兒童學習和表演的機會，增進他們的音樂素養與知識，學習本
國及外國語言與文化。藉以歌會友和團體演出，培養合群觀念與團隊精神，並以合唱和音樂陶冶性情。
本團成立時初始團員有 25 名。前十年逐年茁壯成長，1999 年成立十週年時，團員人數已達百名，分別來自橙縣和洛杉磯縣各城市。遷址爾灣市後，團員持續增加，始終維持大約 140 ∼ 150 名成員。年齡分佈在 6 歲到 18 歲，本團也擴充成為兒童暨青少年合唱團。在過去的 30 年中，NOCCC 家族先後共有 1,500多名兒童及青少年現任團員及畢業團友。
本團現有團員近一百四十位，每週五晚間在南海岸中華文化中心新廈練唱。每年六月舉行年度公演，展現學習成果；不定期舉辦或應邀參加中小型音樂演唱會；並且有郊遊、烤肉、聯誼晚會或才藝表演等活動。自第五年開始，每年冬末初春之際都舉辦青少年音樂營，培訓團員學習團體紀律生活及提高合唱音樂素養與水準。
本團教學方針以專業化訓練為主，樂訓項目內容包括基本發聲訓練、音感、節奏、樂理、發聲、視唱及音樂欣賞和歌曲詮釋等。教學方法則採取小班漸進及分部分班的原則來執行。六至七歲的小朋友先進預備班學習，以唱遊的形式培養最基本的音樂知識與樂趣。八、九歲以上的團員則隨年齡與程度逐年編入初級班、中級班、高級班接受不同階段的各種合唱訓練；年長的大孩子們更可經甄試錄取後加入少年代表隊──演唱組及菁英組，接受更進一步的合唱技巧與和聲訓練。
成立三十多年以來，本團積極參與並活躍於南加州社區社團音樂表演與文化活動。每年在爾灣巴克萊劇院公演以及多次在科斯塔梅沙塞格斯特倫音樂廳演出。參加的主要活動包括： 爾灣市政府的冬季Wonderland 及 Joyful Jingle 音樂會；南海岸中華文化協會/中文學校的公益音樂會和慶祝春節和元宵晚會；連續 24 年在約巴林達市尼克森總統圖書館舉行的夏季週日下午音樂會等等。此外，本團還舉辦了五場南加州兒童合唱團聯合音樂會，並曾多次與本地多個成人合唱團以及來自海外和本國外地的兒童合唱團一起參加了許多聯合合唱音樂會。
我們希望團員們在加入本團之後能享受合唱音樂的樂趣，在他們童年及少年生活中留下一頁美好、快樂而充實的記憶。本團自創團以來，歷經陳明義、林瑞麗、王櫻倩三位音樂總監以及二十幾位具專業音樂背景的音樂教師擔任指導。在她們辛勤的教導，所有贊助者慷慨的捐助，各位家長們熱心的支持及每位團員認真的學習之下，本團茁壯成長，成績斐然，有目共睹，贏得好口碑，享譽南加州。我們歡迎更多對唱歌音樂有興趣的朋友來加入本團，大家一同來建立一個美好的音樂大家庭。
