The Irvine Chinese Catholic Ministry was formed by Chinese-speaking Christians from every corner of the world. Its members started celebrating Sunday Chinese mass at Irvine St. Thomas More Catholic Church in the early 2000's. Soon after an organization was formally established and it has become one of the leading ministries at that parish.
The organization offers bible studies, choir services, spiritual enrichment, and new immigrant services along with masses in Chinese every Sunday at 3:00 pm. The goals of the ministry are to religiously follow Christ's teachings and build a vibrant village of Chinese Catholics.
Fr. Ignatius Lau is the spiritual director of the Ministry and at the age of 90 remains a strong, devoted leader. His love of God and devotion to the community is an inspiration to us all. Two ordained deacons also serve the ministry. Deacon Luis and Deacon Leonard provide sacrament services and family care. Additionally, Sr. Grace from the Sisters of the Society Devoted to the Sacred Heart provides religious education to the group.
Since its inception, the Irvine Chinese Catholic Ministry has become a very well-known organization among Southern California Chinese Catholics. Numerous missionaries, Catholic Lay Organizations, and traveling priests visit Irvine each year providing the ministry with scheduled and non-scheduled retreats, lectures, and worships. The ministry warmly welcomes any and all qualified Christians to celebrate God’s love with us.
The Irvine Chinese Catholic Ministry follows the liturgical calendar to offer spiritual programs and activities to entice worshipers to fulfill “He guides me along right paths for the sake of his name” (Psalms 23:3). Lent and Advent retreats anchor the account.
The ministry also offers cultural and social exchange programs for recent immigrants. It manages a year-round social calendar with events like the Chinese New Year Mass Celebration and Veneration of Ancestors, faith journey workshops, welcoming parties for newly baptized individuals, its summer one-day pilgrimage, dinner under the moon festival, Thanksgiving fundraising for the poor, and the popular Christmas white elephant gift exchange.
This is an organization unlike any other. It blends the best of American life with all the cultural norms of ancient China. And it does so with one purpose in mind and that is to always serve God our savior.

Road trip 自駕遊旅行
爾灣天主教的華人之家是一群來自中國大陸、台灣、香港、東南亞及世界各地會說中文的基督徒所組成的團體。當今直接隸屬爾灣的 St. Thomas More Catholic Church，成為該堂區的一個部門，為南加橙縣地區的華人服務。
華人之家除了每週日下午 3:00 有中文彌撒外，還有聖經頌禱，唱詩班，慕道班，靈修與分享，及新移民服務等社團活動。其宗旨是跟隨基督的愛心，為周圍地區提供一個可以信賴和依靠的家園。
劉曉明神父是華人之家的指導神師，劉神父雖然已有 90 高齡，但身體健朗，記憶力強，從他身上我們看到那自然所彰顯出天主的愛，他是我們精神的導師。華人之家還有二位執事：劉卓台執事和孫立雄執事。他們也把自己的生命奉獻出來，為天主做事，為大家服務。除此之外，耶穌聖心會的葉素貞修女，也退而不休的輔導教友們了解聖事，建立聖化生活。 近二十年來，華人之家已成為南加州眾所周知的靈修和福傳團體。每年在南加州與其他天主教善會組織合作，定期和不定期舉辦避靜和靈修講座，華人之家也積極的參與海內外基督徒及團體的活動，來共襄盛舉。
正如華人之家網站（www.stmcmirvine.org）所述：在世俗各種的誘惑中，唯有跟隨著那屬神的真理，生命和道路，我們才能毫無畏懼的邁向正義的旅途，達到那永恆生命的福祉。華人之家在各禮儀年度都有靈修活動，來與教友攜手同行，走向主所悅納的清水溪畔。華人之家每年定期舉辦四旬期和將臨期一日避靜，同時還有一連串的社交活動包括：新春彌撒聖祭和祭祖大典，心靈之旅慕道班前期共融，新領洗教友歡迎會，暑期朝聖一日遊，中秋賞月，感恩節慈善籌款大餐，和聖誕節《白大象》禮物交換等。
