Ruth Ding received her Bachelor of Arts in Music with a double major in piano and voice from Arizona State University. Her graduate work in music was from the University of Southern California. She has been an activist and promoter of the arts and Chinese culture in Orange County for the past 55 years. She has produced many kinds of music, ethnic festivals and cultural programs in Southern California.

Pei-Yuan Chia (born 1939) is a philanthropist and an American banker. From 1974 until his retirement in 1996, he rose to the highest echelon of management - to the rank of Vice Chairman at Citicorp and Citibank, and held directorships in several major multinational corporations and universities. Here in our vicinity, Mr. chia was a Trustee of the Hoag Hospital Foundation Board for over 9 years (the first non-white member on that board), while concurrently serving as the Chairman of the Board for the Chia Family Foundation with emphasis on medical and education-related projects to benefit the US and Chinese societies.
