Irvine Chinese Chorus 華聲合唱團
華聲合唱團除了每年在五、六月份公演外,還積極參與社區活動,為提倡中華文化,近年來舉辦了中文合唱作曲比賽,以發掘及鼓勵中台兩岸音樂系的莘莘學子。2011年百年雙十國慶,組團和雅音合唱團回台合辦 “歡慶與感恩”音樂會,與台灣當地的合唱團互相交流學習,和中文學校聯合舉辦兒童中文歌唱比賽,並經常為中文學校學生及家長演唱中文歌曲,弘揚中華文化。2016年4月更組團在孫老師帶領下一起歡樂的旅遊演唱,先至中國廈門,又到臺灣嘉義、花蓮與當地的合唱團舉辦聯合演唱會互相交流學習,並參觀、捐款給臺東東公高中。平時經常有登山、聚餐、旅遊和卡拉 OK、中國新年晚會等健身聯誼活動,為我們的海外生活帶來更多樂趣。非常歡迎喜愛唱歌的朋友們加入我們的合唱團,享受唱歌的樂趣!

Sam Wei-Chih Sun, Conductor
Sam Wei-Chih Sun is a pianist, an accompanist and a music educator from Taiwan. He received a BA degree in Piano Performance with a minor in Cello and Vocal Performance from Taipei Municipal Teachers College. In May 2005, he received a Master’s degree in Conducting from Azusa Pacific University. The following year, he was awarded the “2006 Chinese Overseas Outstanding Youth Award”. Currently, Mr. Sun is the conductor for the Southern California Taiwanese Hakka Chorus, the Arcadia Chinese Chorus, the Southern California TPC Master Chorale, New Orange County Children’s Choir(NOCCC) and Irvine Chinese Chorus. He conducts many concerts and collaborates with many professional soloists. He is the music director at Good Shepherd Taiwanese Presbyterian Church in Monterey Park. Additionally, he is a member of the Music Teacher’s Association of California (MTAC), and serves as an adjunct Professor of Music at Azusa Pacific University, Citrus Community College, and the Chinese for Christ Calvin Chao Theological Seminary.
Sonia Lee, Piano Accompanist
Gifted with perfect pitch and agility, Ms. Lee won numerous piano competitions since youth. She graduated from National Taiwan Normal University with a first place in Piano Performance and went on to teach piano and music theory ranging from elementary school through college in Tainan. Besides administration works in numerous international music camps, Sonia has been a pianist and choir accompanist for numerous places among southern California, including Orange County and Irvine Presbyterian Church, Evangelical Formosan Church, Irvine Chinese Chorus. Ms. Lee was also the President of Evangelical Formosan Church of Irvine Orchestra. In recent years, she took up new instruments in Concordia University with hand bell teacher Nancy Jessup, and pipe organ teacher Esther Johns.
