The Irvine Chinese Immersion Academy (ICIA) is thrilled to announce that it has acquired the keys to its new campus located at 1 Liberty, Irvine. On July 3, 2023, Dr. Benson Kwok, Executive Director/ Principal of ICIA, formally received the keys to the newly updated campus from the Irvine Unified School District (IUSD).
IUSD Superintendent, Mr. Terry Walker, warmly welcomed Dr. Kwok to the new ICIA campus and extended support from the IUSD team. Assistant Superintendent John Fogarty, Executive Director of Facility and Construction Kelvin Okino, Facilities Planning Supervisor Dana Grudem, and Director of Maintenance & Operations Joe Chapin were also present during the facility walkthrough to address any queries or concerns.
Members of ICIA’s founding team, including Yulan Chung (Executive Director of South Coast Chinese Cultural Center and Principal of Irvine Chinese School), Wendi Chen, Beatrice Tseng, and Alice Wang, were also in attendance for the walkthrough.
Strategically located adjacent to Sierra Vista Middle School, the new campus boasts modern infrastructure, cutting-edge technology and furnishing with new furniture. This supports ICIA’s mission to cultivate global citizens proficient in both Mandarin Chinese and English. The campus features spacious classrooms, a multipurpose auditorium, a school library, and dedicated spaces for sports and enrichment activities, making it a conducive environment for students’ academic and holistic growth.
Irvine Chinese Immersion Academy will be hosting varied orientation events in August prior to the first day of school on August 24, 2023. The orientations offer opportunities for prospective students, parents, and members of the community to visit the campus, meet the faculty and staff, and learn more about the unique educational programs ICIA offers.

由爾灣學區審核通過設立的中英雙語沈浸式公立小學Irvine Chinese Immersion Academy(簡 稱ICIA)，7月3日由校長郭秉生博士(Dr. Benson Kwok)代表，正式取得爾灣學區新校園的使用權及鑰匙，ICIA計畫在 8日24日與爾灣學區其他學校同步開學，校方在 開學前將擇期舉辦對外開放及老師見面的暖身活動。
爾灣學區總監Terry Walker及多位學區主管參與了7月3日的校舍交接程序，由爾灣學區主管介紹ICIA新校園的教室、圖書館、多功能禮堂、辦公室、操場、午餐區等設備，並將學校的鑰匙交給校長郭秉生。代表ICIA創校團隊的鍾幼蘭、陳俊蓉、曾尚儀及王錦輝也應邀參觀校園內外，並感謝爾灣學區在規劃及整修ICIA新校園上的各項協助。
ICIA是在大爾灣地區民眾強烈的支持下，結合社區意見領袖及南海岸中華文化中心/爾灣中文學校的各項資源，由爾灣學區批准設立的第一所公立特許學校，使用爾灣學區提供的校園(1 Liberty, Irvine)，這所以中文沈浸式教學為導向的公立小學， 是爾灣學區首個核准設立的中英雙語學校，由於取得了學區的支持認可、 華人社區支持的教育資源及社區民眾的力挺，籌備以來便備受各界關注。有關ICIA的招生辦法、教學目標及課程規劃，可上網查閱學校官網ICIAcademy.org。
