The South Coast Chinese Orchestra is currently recruiting members. If you have more than a year of experience in either Chinese or Western musical instruments, we would be delighted to hear from you!
Our orchestra combines both Eastern and Western instruments and is led by conductor Mr. He Bin. Apart from well-known pieces, we also introduce original compositions each year. In 2018, we presented "Mulan," and in 2023, we showcased "Monkey King." Both of these grand performances took place at the Segerstrom Concert Hall. Moreover, we are excited to announce that a new original composition titled "Nezha" is scheduled for release in 2024. We sincerely invite you to become a part of these performances and bring a fresh musical experience to the people of Irvine.
Whether your expertise lies in Chinese instruments such as erhu, zhongruan, pipa, dizi, yangqin, and guzheng, or Western string instruments like violin, viola, and cello, your participation is welcomed. Rehearsals are held every Wednesday evening at 7 o'clock. Furthermore, we offer beginner and advanced instrument classes for both adults and children aged 6 and above. We also provide instrument rentals for various instruments, including erhu, zhonghu, guzheng, yangqin, zhongruan, pipa, and dizi.
