As June ushers in the summer, water-related accidents become frequent in the OC area. To protect the lives of the public, OCFA has launched a social media campaign, hoping that people can take out their phones and spread the following safety knowledge, so that more people can learn water safety tips and reduce the accident rate. Your small action could very well be the key to saving a life.

ABC's of Water Safety

C is for Classes. Take first aid, CPR, and swimming classes, and follow the safety tips included in our ABC's of Water Safety flyer and social media posts.

  • Always keep a phone nearby to call 9-1-1.
  • Teach children that running, jumping, and pushing others on pool decks is dangerous and can cause injuries.
  • Always enter the pool feet first so you know how deep the water is in that area.

First aid and CPR classes can help save lives. Sign up now so you're prepared in case of an emergency. For more information on water safety, visit ocfa.org.

Children who have taken swim lessons still need to be actively supervised around water. For more information on water safety, visit ocfa.org.
