The election for the Mayor and City Council of Irvine is coming up on November 5. This year marks the first time Irvine will use a district election system.

The South Coast Chinese Cultural Center reminds voters that the ballots they receive this year will be different from those in the past. Please take a close look and make sure to vote!

In March, nearly 60% of Irvine voters approved Measure D, also known as the Council Expansion and Districting charter amendment. The measure expands the City Council from five to seven members and shifts elections from at-large to district-based.

Voters in every district will have the opportunity to elect a Mayor for a two-year term. Voters in District 1 will elect a Council Member for a two-year term. Voters in Districts 2, 3, and 4 will elect a Councilmember for a four-year term.

Voters in Districts 5 and 6 will vote for a Council Member to represent their district in November 2026. Until then, residents will continue to be represented by Councilmembers at-large.

To help voters find their district and discover key features and facilities within it, including Vote Centers and Ballot Drop Box locations, the City has launched a voting district dashboard. This resource is available at cityofirvine.org/yourdistrict and is intended to better educate residents on their districts and create a more informed community.

Where to Vote

Ballots can be returned by mail or at a secure Ballot Drop Box anywhere in Orange County beginning October 7.

Three Vote Centers will open in Irvine beginning October 26 at 8 a.m.:

  • Irvine Civic Center, 1 Civic Center Plaza (drive-thru ballot drop-off available)
  • Los Olivos Community Center, 101 Alfonso
  • Portola Springs Community Center, 900 Tomato Springs

選民可以上cityofirvine.org/yourdistrict 查詢。

  • 爾灣市政府中心,1 Civic Center Plaza(提供免下車選票投遞服務)
101 Alfonso
900 Tomato Springs
