The Winter Christmas Gala, hosted by D@S, was held on the evening of December 14th at the South Coast Chinese Cultural Center's sports arena.
The event featured a variety of performances, from the "Colorful Butterfly Dance" performed by kindergarten children to adult classical ballet pieces.
The performances, both charming and professional, left the invited parents in awe, with thunderous applause throughout the evening.
To celebrate the upcoming Christmas, D@S Dance Studio carefully organized 37 performances, showcasing a wide range of dance styles, including traditional folk dances, classical dance, ballet, and jazz. Dancers of all ages, from 4-year-old children to adult performers, brought their passion and dedication to the stage with every performance.
The Chinese Dance Company of Southern California also made its debut with four different groups of dancers, giving parents a sneak peek of the exciting programs that will be officially presented during the upcoming Chinese New Year celebration.
These performances not only incorporated rich Chinese cultural elements but also demonstrated the dancers' teamwork and high level of coordination, earning thunderous applause from the audience.
Cheer Pan, Director of the CDCSC, emphasized that dance is not just an art form but also a full-body exercise.
Through dance training, students can not only improve their memory and focus, but also relax their muscles, align their joints, and achieve better balance and overall health.
Dance also helps to improve body shape, making the body more flexible and healthy.
She also pointed out that each type of dance has its unique cultural background and history. The process of learning dance is also an exploration of culture.
By studying different dance forms, students not only appreciate the beauty of various cultures but also deepen their understanding of music, art, and traditions. Dance is not just about mastering techniques; it is a journey of cultural exploration.
