She also expressed heartfelt gratitude to the students for their resilience, to the parents for their unwavering support, and to the coaching team for their professionalism and passion.

“Behind every shining moment are countless acts of dedication and belief.”
Behind the Scenes :
The South Coast Chinese Wushu “Dragon Team” shined at this year’s California International Wushu Championships—but behind the medals were early mornings, quiet nerves, and countless hours of unseen effort.
Coach Becky Kong said, “Behind every trophy is sweat, trust, and perseverance.” This wasn’t just a competition—it was a journey of growth.

Matches began at 9 AM, but the team arrived by 7. For them, the real competition started the moment they walked in. Here are the Dragon Team’s five winning secrets:
Hair & Makeup: Embodying Spirit, Energy, and Focus
Wushu emphasizes unity of mind, body, and spirit. All team members, boys and girls, had hair and makeup tailored to their event style—boys by Coach Fragrance Kong, girls by Assistant Coach Lareina. These details helped boost confidence and stage presence.
Uniforms: Attire Reflects Attitude
Outfits were carefully chosen based on event type, personality, and visual impact. A sharp, unified look not only impressed judges but also showcased discipline and professionalism.
Warm-Up: Unlocking Full Potential
Coach Kong led systematic warm-ups—physically and mentally. Movements synced with mindset to help athletes enter peak performance mode.

Logistics: Behind-the-Scenes Precision
With events and locations constantly shifting, Assistant Coach Lareina tracked each student’s schedule, adjusted timing, and coordinated transitions to keep the team calm and ready.。

Post-Match Review: Success Leaves Clues
Right after competition, coaches reviewed scores, watched replays, and discussed what worked and what didn’t. Growth comes from reflection.

Coach Kong said: “They brought home 48 medals—but what they truly gained was courage, confidence, teamwork, resilience, respect, and love.”
