The City of Irvine’s Global Village Festival returns in full swing on this Saturday, October 11, at the Great Park, celebrating the city’s diversity with a full day of global culture, food, art, and family fun!

Global Flavors, Shared Joy
To give everyone a taste of the world, the City of Irvine is introducing a $5 Global Taste Menu — a delicious passport to flavors from around the globe!
Mayor Larry Agran noted that Irvine is one of the most diverse and inclusive cities in America, and the Global Village Festival truly embodies that spirit of unity in diversity.
The celebration is supported by UCI, UCI Health, Troutman Amin LLP, and Concordia University Irvine.
Brushes Flow, Melodies Glow
The South Coast Chinese Cultural Center (SCCCC) will host an interactive booth featuring “Brush Calligraphy with Water” and a “Free Lucky Draw With The Prize.”


Among this year’s most anticipated highlights are SCCCC’s vibrant performances, showcasing the richness and beauty of Chinese arts and traditions :

Drums Resound, Dances Inspire
- South Coast Chinese Drum Team, led by Conductor Bin He, will open with a thunderous drum performance, setting a powerful tone for the day.
- South Coast Chinese Orchestra follows with beloved classics including Fragrance of the Night and Dance of the Yao People, featuring bamboo flute and guzheng solos.

- Chinese Dance Company of Southern California (CDCSC) brings poetic grace with solo dances Song of the Yue Maiden and Rippling Elegance, plus the spirited group piece The Dong People’s Duoye Dance.
Martial Grace, Joyful Finale
- South Coast Wushu Team will deliver a dynamic martial arts showcase of Long Fist, Broadsword, Long-Tassel Sword, and Flow Ball (Róulìball)—blending power, balance, and artistry.
- To conclude, D@S Dance Studio, led by Teacher Mandy Zhao, presents the elegant Dai dance The Peacock Flies and the joyful Xinjiang dance When the Drums Begin to Sound, closing the show with color and rhythm.
