
At the South Coast Chinese Wushu Team’s 2026 tryouts on November 15, all 15 students impressed judges and cheering parents with steady footwork, sharp technique, and strong focus–clearly showing the skill and promise of a new generation of young martial artists.

Strike & Spin Sharp & Sure
The assessment covered multiple areas, including flexibility, basic skills, jumps, forms, and physical fitness.
It included movements such as vertical splits, horizontal splits, front kicks, single-leg strikes, wheel kicks, flick kicks, side kicks, whirlwind kicks, aerial outward kicks, outward lotus kicks, as well as fitness tests like 1-minute sit-ups and 2-minute horse stance exercises.

Each movement demonstrated the participants’ mastery of martial arts techniques and overall physical abilities.

Master Guides Forms Refined
The children performed with great seriousness during the assessment, showing precise movements and noticeable progress.
Coaches Becky and Lareina provided careful guidance throughout, offering patient instruction and professional feedback from fundamental techniques to detailed adjustments.
The team members continually pushed their limits during practice, displaying resilience, focus, and teamwork.
