Ukulele Warmth · Vocal Harmony

Though the ukulele is small in size, it carries a warm, bright, and uplifting tone that naturally brings people closer together.

For this reason, the ensemble chose the ukulele as its core instrument, complemented by vocals and a variety of accompanying instruments.

Through these varied performances, the ensemble has witnessed firsthand how music transcends language and age.

A familiar melody or a heartfelt group song often brings smiles, emotional moments, and meaningful connection among audiences.

Service-oriented performances, especially those supporting healthcare communities and youth organizations, have been particularly impactful for the members.

The ensemble has seen audiences gently sway with the rhythm and children light up with joy upon hearing a favorite tune. These touching responses continue to motivate the group to move forward with purpose and gratitude.

Service First · Giving Always

As performances and community engagement have increased, the ensemble’s visibility has grown, and membership continues to expand.

The group has become steadily stronger and more vibrant. Yet even as it grows, OC Golden Ukulele remains firmly grounded in its founding principle — never forgetting its original mission.

Co-founder Laura Yen shared :“We have always believed that the true power of music is not measured by the size of the stage, but by whether it genuinely reaches people’s hearts.

OC Golden Ukulele was founded with the hope of using the simplest and warmest musical expression to become a source of companionship and encouragement within the community.”

From the very beginning, OC Golden Ukulele has been built on a spirit of service.

The ensemble does not charge membership fees; all members contribute their time and energy voluntarily, united by the shared goal of bringing music into the community.

Every rehearsal and every performance reflects the members’ willing dedication and mutual support beyond their busy daily lives.

In addition to ukuleles, the ensemble incorporates various wind, percussion, and rhythm instruments to enrich its overall sound.

Members learn from one another, building skills in chord work, rhythmic coordination, and stage presence step by step.

The group firmly believes that the beauty of music lies not only in technical refinement but also in the genuine human connections formed along the way.

One distinctive feature of OC Golden Ukulele performances is that members often take turns briefly introducing the background or meaning of each song before performing it.

This practice helps create a closer bond with audiences and adds emotional depth to the music. For the ensemble, each performance is more than entertainment — it is a sincere sharing of heart and intention.

Each gathering is more than rehearsal — it is a journey of mutual encouragement and growth.

The ensemble is also deeply grateful for the guidance and encouragement received from respected ukulele educators.

Special thanks go to Claire Tsai of Taiwan and Shaun Chen of the United States for their ongoing instruction, support, and professional insight, which have helped the ensemble continue to grow musically and organizationally.

At the same time, the group will continue refining its performance quality and expanding collaborations with cultural, educational, and nonprofit organizations so that the uplifting power of music can reach even more corners of the community.

As the ensemble moves forward with steady growth, it remains committed to preserving the sincerity and passion that inspired its founding.

Through the gentle voice of the four-string ukulele and heartfelt singing, OC Golden Ukulele hopes to bring warmth, comfort, and hope to the Orange County community for years to come.
