On May 31, South Coast Chinese Cultural Center (SCCCC) and the Pan America Chinese Dance Alliance (PACDA ) presented an annual dance showcase, from the D@S recital to Dancing Southland by Chinese Dance Company of Southern California (CDCSC)

The nearly four-hour program celebrated a year of growth among Chinese American dancers and brought cultural heritage to life through dance.

Young Hearts, Blooming Arts
The D@S Dance Showcase opened with warmth and energy, featuring fundamentals, technique, classical, folk, and youth exam pieces. Dancers of all ages took the stage with confidence.

Each turn, leap, and pose reflected months of practice. From children’s bright energy to teens’ poise and adults’ grace, the showcase captured growth, dedication, and the joy of dance.

Youth Soars, Dance Flows
In the evening, CDCSC presented Dancing Southland, a youth and adult showcase rich in depth and maturity.

Classical grace and folk rhythms came together like a moving cultural journey.

Mongolian dances captured the spirit of the grasslands, while Li and Zhuang pieces added vivid ethnic color.

Through rhythm and formation, dancers brought Chinese tradition vividly to life.

The former brought the quiet poetry of Jiangnan spring rain to life with flowing grace, while the latter captured the bold rhythm and sweeping vitality of the grasslands.

Previously honored at the Showstopper Dance Competition, both works again won warm applause with polished technique and heartfelt expression.

Dance Roots, Art Legacy
This annual showcase was more than a celebration of student achievement; it reflected SCCCC and PACDA’s commitment to dance education and cultural heritage.

As the curtain fell, the spirit of dance lingered—connecting young Chinese Americans to culture, roots, and the enduring beauty of Chinese art in Southern California.

Season Starts, Dreams Rise
As the annual showcase concludes, a new dance season begins.
CDCSC’s 2026 Summer Camp and new member recruitment are now opening, inviting dance lovers to shine on stage.
