When words become remembrance, music carries sorrow.

The Irvine Book Club has created《 Forever Rose》, a memorial e-book honoring former president and SCCCA Board Director Rose Cheung through tributes, photos, and original music.
Rose passed away on June 10 at age 76. Her memorial service will be held June 28, offering family, friends, and the community a final farewell to a life devoted to culture and service.
Words Rise, Love Abides
When news of Rose Cheung’s passing came, Irvine Book Club members poured out their memories. Some remembered her grace and wisdom; others recalled how she always stepped forward when needed.
Still others treasured a word of encouragement or a gentle smile. These heartfelt tributes continued to gather, ultimately inspiring 《 Forever Rose》.

Former IBC President Laura Yen, who coordinated the project, said the editorial team completed the memorial e-book in just one week after beginning work on June 17.
Members honored Rose for encouraging others, bringing readers together, promoting literature, and serving the community.
Every word was both a farewell and an expression of gratitude; every page seemed to whisper, “Though Rose Has Passed, her fragrance remains.”
Pages Sing, Hearts Ring
Laura Yen said the e-book was lovingly produced by Teresa Lin, with original music and lyrics created by Shining Liang and her sister. Current President Lynn Hsu coordinated and supported the project throughout.
In the book, Hsu paid tribute to Rose on behalf of IBC, thanking her for the warmth, encouragement, and love she gave its members.
She also urged the club to build upon Rose’s legacy and carry forward her devotion to reading, friendship, and service.

Four Years, Grace Endures
Rose served two terms as president of the Irvine Book Club, totaling four years. She was also a Board Director of the South Coast Chinese Cultural Association and Chair of its Book Editorial Committee.

Through reading, she brought people together; through culture, she built bridges. More than four decades of public service gave the community a quiet yet steadfast source of strength.
IBC also created a memorial card bearing a QR code to the e-book. At the memorial service, President Lynn Hsu and former President Glenda Cheung will present it to Rose’s daughter, Roselyn, on behalf of all members.
The gift carries more than a memorial book—it holds all the gratitude and sorrow they never had the chance to express.
《Forever Rose》 is like a long letter from the Irvine Book Club to Rose’s daughter.
The pages may one day close and the music gently fade, but the love, courage, and fragrance of their “Forever Rose” will continue to bloom in every heart she touches.
