The South Coast Chinese Cultural Center (SCCCA) is pleased to have a new partnership with the Irvine Senior Harmonica Band to plan and launch an Adult Harmonica Program for the 2026–2027 academic year.
The program is expected to begin in Fall 2026 and is designed to offer adults in the community a relaxed, enjoyable, and engaging way to learn music.
Through harmonica instruction and group participation, students will have the opportunity to develop a new hobby, enrich their daily lives, and connect with others who share an interest in music.
The course will be open to all adults, including complete beginners. No prior musical experience or music-reading background will be required.
The initial program is planned for September through December 2026, with a total of 15 weekly sessions.
Each class will be approximately 75 minutes long. To accommodate community members’ schedules, SCCCA is considering classes from Monday through Friday, with possible morning sessions between 9:00 AM and 12:00 PM and evening sessions between 5:00 PM and 8:00 PM.
SCCCA is currently conducting an interest survey to better understand community members’ preferred class days and times.
Feedback from the survey will help determine the final course schedule and ensure that the program best meets local needs.

Every response will help shape this new opportunity for adults to learn, play, and enjoy music together.
