Summer is in full swing at DAS(Dance at South Coast Chinese Cultural Center), where the 2026 Summer Dance Camp continues to bring young dancers together through movement, creativity, and cultural exploration.

This year’s summer program consists of four sessions, with the first two Student Summer Camp sessions successfully completed from June 15 through July 10.

Over the two-week sessions, students of different ages immersed themselves in dance and enjoyed a summer filled with learning, friendship, and joyful memories.

Under the guidance of experienced instructors, students received training in ballet fundamentals, Chinese folk and ethnic dance, basic dance techniques, stage performance, and teamwork.

From classroom exercises and choreography to technique training and final presentations, the young dancers challenged themselves and grew with every step.

Through music and movement, they built confidence and perseverance while developing friendships and a strong sense of accomplishment.

The summer camp not only gives students an opportunity to experience the beauty of Chinese dance and culture, but also helps develop their artistic expression, teamwork, and stage presence.

As an important talent development platform for the Chinese Dance Company of Southern California, the Student Summer Camp serves as both a starting point for young dancers and a pathway toward future participation in the company.

The summer program will continue with dedicated Dance Company Summer Camp sessions, providing current company members with more intensive and systematic training in preparation for future performances, competitions, and cultural exchange opportunities.

As the new school year approaches, the Chinese Dance Company of Southern California is also launching its 2026–2027 auditions.

Auditions will take place on Sunday, August 23, 2026, from 2:00–5:00 PM at the South Coast Chinese Cultural Center (SCCCA).

New member auditions will be held from 2:00–3:00 PM, followed by annual evaluations for current members from 3:00–5:00 PM. Auditions are open to dancers ages 6 and older.

Dancers ages 6–11 should have at least one year of dance experience, while dancers ages 12 and older should have at least three years of experience.

Please refer to the audition flyer for additional details.

The Chinese Dance Company of Southern California is a nonprofit dance company jointly established by the South Coast Chinese Cultural Center (SCCCA) and the Pan America Chinese Dance Alliance (PACDA).

The company is dedicated to preserving and promoting Chinese dance and culture while providing dancers throughout Southern California with opportunities to learn, perform, and connect with the community.

Company members are active throughout Orange County, participating in community events such as annual Lunar New Year and Lantern Festival celebrations.

They have also been invited to perform at NBA events and the Orange County dance community’s 35th anniversary celebration, sharing Chinese culture with diverse audiences.

Many middle and high school company members have also received the President’s Volunteer Service Award in recognition of their contributions to community service and cultural outreach.

We welcome more young dancers to join our dance company family—to grow through the arts, shine on stage, and help carry Chinese cultural traditions forward for the next generation.

Meanwhile, DAS’s 2026–2027 regular classes will be starting soon. More information about classes and registration will be announced shortly. Stay tuned!
