About the Program

Irvine Chinese School was well-established in 1976 as a heritage language school and has been accredited by WASC since 2015. The South Coast Chinese Cultural Center opened its door in 2005 and is now the largest on the West Coast. Irvine Chinese Preschool started its licensing program for children in 2021. We are very excited to expand our educational and cultural service through the new Chinese immersion program.

Irvine Chinese Immersion School is committed to nurture the young heart and mind in a joyful learning environment and to empower students become critical thinkers, problem solvers, strong communicators, and lifelong learners. Through best practice of full immersion, small class size, differentiated instruction and engaging curriculum, students reach their full academic potential and become caring, multilingual, and culturally literate citizens in a global economy.

Age of Enrollment

  • Kindergarten – Fifth years old on or before September 1, 2022
  • First Grade – Six years old on or before September 1, 2022

There are 39 weeks for the 2022-2023 School Year, which covers from 8/25/22 to 6/9/23, excluding school holidays.

School Holidays:

    • 9/5/22 (Mon) Labor Day, center is closed
    • 11/11/22 (Th) Veterans Day
    • 11/24-11/25/22 (Thu-Fri) Thanksgiving Day, center is closed
    • 12/19-12/30/22 Winter Recess
    • 1/16/23 Martin Luther King Day
    • 2/20/23 President's Day 
    • 4/3-4/7/23  Spring Break
    • 5/29/23 Memorial Day 

School Hours (2022-2023 School Year)

  • School hours: 8:30AM - 3:30PM
  • After school: 3:30PM - 6:30PM (Optional)

 

Lunch Order

  • For lunch purchasing/ordering, we are using the Lunch Mob this year. Please create an account and add child name first.
  • Please note the deadline to order or to make changes is 12:00pm two(2) calendar days prior to service. Use the school code IRVCS.
  • Hot meal will be delivered to your child every day.
  • Lunch that was purchased but was not picked up by the end of 6:30 PM will be trash away each day.
