On February 8th, the South Coast Chinese Cultural Center's (SCCCC) live calligraphy event at Fashion Island was a hit during the New Year celebration, with long lines of people eager for personalized calligraphy.

This year's Spring Festival celebration included cultural and family-friendly activities like a wooden snake sculpture, dragon and lion dances, live calligraphy, and kite painting.

See’s Candies also handed out free chocolate gold coins, adding to the festive spirit.

Calligraphy masters I Tung Wang and Cris Lee offered free calligraphy services, fulfilling every request.

Visitors, including tourists from Germany, mothers with babies, and multigenerational families, all had their names written by the masters and joyfully took photos with their new calligraphy, creating a warm and lively atmosphere.

Many Chinese attendees asked for New Year blessings, while foreign visitors requested their Chinese names as souvenirs.

One mother asked for her daughter's name to be written, while others showed their names on their phones for the masters to write.

A family of four from Germany not only had their children's names written but also took an interest in the calligraphy tools, including brushes, inkstones, and seals.

Master Cris Lee explained how to use an inkstone, write with a brush, and apply seals, leaving a lasting impression on the German couple about Chinese culture and calligraphy.
