On the morning of May 30, the Irvine Chinese Immersion Preschool, part of the South Coast Chinese Cultural Association, held its annual graduation and end-of-year ceremony.
The highlight of the event was the original musical “Our Secret Garden,” performed by students from all four classes—Butterfly, Panda, Owl, and Tiger—bringing joy to the children and moving many parents to tears.

In her opening remarks, CEO Yulan Chung praised the school’s commitment to the community and its top-tier Chinese-language teaching team. She thanked families for their trust and encouraged the graduates to continue their learning journey with passion for Chinese language and culture.

Director Ginger Lin expressed heartfelt gratitude to the teachers: “Your care and dedication have allowed our students to thrive in a nurturing environment rich in language and culture.” She also thanked parents for their continued support and partnership in education.
The musical began with the youngest students portraying the spirit of spring, followed by seeds waking up to grow, blooming flowers, and playful insects bringing the secret garden to life.

Through singing, dancing, and expressive movement, the children showcased not only their creativity and Mandarin skills, but also their emotional and developmental growth over the past year.

Thoughtfully directed and beautifully performed, the show delighted the audience and earned enthusiastic applause from families in attendance.

In addition to the performance, student speakers shared reflections, and graduating students received certificates.
The ceremony reached a joyful peak when the entire school joined together on stage for a lively group dance, filling the venue with cheers and laughter.

Throughout the event, proud parents captured memorable moments with phones and cameras. Many commented that seeing their children confidently sing, dance, and speak Mandarin on stage reflected the care and effort of the teachers.

In this “secret garden” created by and for the children, dreams blossomed, love flourished, and hope took root.
More than just a performance, it was a celebration of growth, learning, and community. The ceremony concluded with a cheerful outdoor picnic shared by teachers, students, and families.
