「You don’t need to prove your worth—just become the best version of yourself.」
At El Camino High’s graduation, Karis Ho stood tall—not just as a top student, but as a young Chinese American living her faith through action. Her words brought both applause and tears—a story of belief, purpose, and becoming her best self.
Faith First Light Follows
Raised in a devout Chinese American family, Karis Ho served others from a young age. She comforted kids during COVID and brought food to wildfire victims—learning to listen, not judge, and lead with compassion.
“Love isn’t something you say—it’s something you live.” It’s not a slogan, but the way she chooses to move through the world—with quiet strength and steady kindness shaped by shared pain.
Academic Excellence, Natural Leadership
With a 4.7 GPA, two associate degrees, and a full scholarship to UCLA, Karis Ho excelled in the classroom.
She also stood out as a campus leader—serving two terms as student body president and leading both the speech debate and dance teams.
Whether in policy or performance, she blended logic with creativity and led with both discipline and heart.
Youth Voice Civic Action
Karis Ho’s impact went beyond campus. As Miss Teen Oceanside, she served as a city ambassador—but wanted more than a title. In her junior year, she helped re-establish the city’s Youth Commission with fellow students.
She studied local policy, drafted bylaws, and spoke before the city council to advocate for youth voting and speaking rights on relevant issues.
The proposal passed unanimously—turning symbolic representation into real political power, and marking a milestone for youth civic engagement.
Focus with Discipline Shine for Others
“I’ve always believed youth isn’t a limitation—it’s power,” Karis Ho says, calm but firm.
She speaks up for herself and creates space for others, knowing real change takes patience, work, and follow-through.
When asked how she balances school, leadership, and service, she replies, “If something truly matters, being busy isn’t an excuse.”
It’s that quiet focus—and her unwavering drive to light the way for others—that keeps her going.
Act daily Grow fully
As a sophomore, Karis saw self-actualization as distant. She later found it in everyday acts—laughter, asking for help, quiet kindness.
“Life isn’t about titles,” she said. “It’s about intention, direction, and moving forward—even when it’s hard.”
Karis hopes to become a public interest lawyer. “Law should restore dignity—it’s a language we can use with compassion.”
Stay True Move Forward
From faith to action, from solitude to strength—Chinese American youth Karis Ho leads quietly, with steady eyes and deep conviction. She is a portrait of her generation.
Her story is proof: when you move with love and purpose, you don’t just shape your future—you help light the way for others.
