Founded in September 2016 by current president You-jiao Yang, The Chinese Calligraphy Club of Laguna Woods Village is a registered nonprofit that has grown from 48 founding members to nearly 160.
It serves as a cultural haven for residents passionate about Chinese brush art, bringing together tradition, creativity, and community.
President Yang and Secretary Zuo promote Chinese culture and serve with heart.
Brush and Ink, Heart and Heritage
Rooted in the belief that “calligraphy and painting share the same origin,” CCCLWV celebrates Chinese culture through brushwork—where writing becomes art and every stroke tells a story.
Open to all backgrounds, the club offers a welcoming space to explore Chinese calligraphy and painting while building friendship and cross-cultural connection.

Diverse Classes, Lifelong Learning
To meet growing interests, the club now offers crafts and photography alongside brush arts—helping seniors stay creative, connected, and inspired.
With experienced instructors and enthusiastic members, many rediscover their passion for learning, proving that creativity has no age limit.

Bridging Cultures Through Art
The club regularly partners with other art groups to host exhibitions, lectures, and interactive events—fostering dialogue between Eastern and Western artistic traditions.
