The much-anticipated 2025 Mid-Autumn Festival comes to Great Park on September 26, featuring vibrant Asian music, dance, and traditional costume showcase, hands-on cultural activities, festive games, and a wide array of Asian street food for a true feast of the senses.

A Festival of Reunion and Tradition

Mid-Autumn Festival, a cherished tradition for over 3,000 years, symbolizes harvest, harmony, and family reunion. 

Celebrated across China, Korea, Japan, Vietnam, and Southeast Asia, it has become a cultural bridge for communities worldwide. 

Co-hosted by the South Coast Chinese Cultural Center and the City of Irvine, this year’s festival transforms Great Park into a stage of vibrant traditions for all cultures to enjoy.

Stage Performances · East Meets West

The main stage will feature traditional instruments, folk dances, traditional costume showcases, Chinese martial arts performances from Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Vietnamese groups. 

The energy of music, lights, and movement will showcase the beauty of Asian heritage in spectacular fashion.

Family Games · Hands-On Fun

Beyond the stage, the festival buzzes with fun—a lantern tunnel, Houyi archery, and marble games by the South Coast Chinese Cultural, enjoy clay mooncake making and the Mooncake Walk—with a chance to win free mooncakes while supplies last !

Cultural Village · Arts and Heritage

At the cultural booths, local groups will offer lantern painting, origami, and crafts. 

 

The Irvine Evergreen Chinese Senior Association and the Chinese Calligraphy Club will showcase live calligraphy and share free artworks. 

Irvine Library will debut on-site with cultural books.

Asian Street Food · Flavors of the Night

Food is at the heart of every celebration. This year’s market expands with Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Thai night market bites—from skewers, baked treats, and sizzling BBQ to bubble tea and creative drinks. 

The aroma of sizzling grills and fresh pastries will keep guests coming back for more.

Friday, Sept. 26, 5:00–9:30 PM at Irvine’s Great Parka night of culture, cuisine, and celebration.
