If your understanding of Wushu is still limited to knives, spears, staffs, and swords, then you’re truly behind the times! In 2026, the South Coast Chinese Cultural Center Wushu Summer Camp is making a strong comeback.

It not only continues traditional Wushu training but also adds courses such as Flowball, staff techniques, dragon dance, lion dance, ribbon dragon, nunchaku, and Sanda.

By integrating Wushu elements into various activities, children can build their physical strength and fitness while experiencing the charm of Chinese culture in a fun and educational way.

During this year’s Lunar New Year celebrations, the South Coast Wushu Team’s ribbon dragon and lion dance performances stole the spotlight.

These performances were entirely executed by young participants, who completed one challenging move after another with strong teamwork.

The ribbon dragon soared brilliantly in the air, while the lion dance was lively and endearing.

Each movement showcased the children’s solid fundamentals, excellent coordination, courage, confidence, and sense of responsibility.

Practicing Wushu offers many benefits for children’s growth. It not only strengthens the body, improving cardiovascular health, muscle strength, flexibility, and coordination, but also cultivates focus, self-discipline, and resilience.

Through Wushu training, children learn perseverance and self-management, building confidence by challenging themselves.

Dragon and lion dance enhance coordination, rhythm, and explosive power, while fostering teamwork and stage presence, allowing children to gain a unique artistic experience while inheriting Chinese culture.

Flowball and staff techniques further develop hand-eye coordination and agility, laying a solid foundation for comprehensive Wushu skills.

Nunchaku and Sanda training stimulate courage and strength, enabling children to safely challenge themselves under professional guidance.

If your child wants to stand on stage under the spotlight, gain strength, confidence, and team spirit during the summer, and have fun while experiencing traditional Wushu, then this summer camp is a must!
