This summer, SCCCA, in collaboration with Einstein’s Horizon, is launching a brand-new science education program: the Future Physicians Academy.
This innovative STEM summer camp utilizes VR to give students a truly one-of-a-kind learning experience.
Einstein’s Horizon and its curriculum was created by UCI professor, Laszlo Bardoczi, ensuring a high standard of pedagogical design.
To further inspire students, the summer courses will be led by high-achieving, top-performing UCI premed students who have been personally trained by professor Bardoczi to facilitate this immersive journey.
These mentors serve as relatable role models, bridging the gap between high school and higher education while showing students a clear, attainable path toward their own future careers in science.
In traditional classrooms, science often remains confined to textbooks and lectures. In this program, students enter a fully immersive scientific world through cutting-edge VR technology.
They will explore human anatomy, biology, and other core scientific concepts in a 3D interactive environment, transforming abstract ideas into tangible experiences and gaining a deeper understanding of how science works.
The curriculum follows a complete “Learn – Experience – Reinforce” structure. Students first build foundational knowledge guided by instructors, then engage in immersive VR exploration.
This is followed by interactive discussions to strengthen understanding and game-based activities to reinforce learning.
This approach not only improves comprehension efficiency but also significantly enhances engagement and motivation.
