AM Camp

Sports Camp 運動營

Eligibility: 1st-6th grade

Our indoor multi-purpose sports arena is equipped with basketball, tennis, badminton, indoor soccer, and pickleball facilities. Our experienced coaches provide a safe and positive environment to teach children the fundamentals of each sport and help them improve their skills. 

Badminton: Under the instruction of experienced coaches, players will work on basic techniques (grip, footwork, and shots) and strategic playing. All levels welcome. Must wear appropriate clothes and shoes. Must bring a racket labeled your child’s name

Basketball: Trained Coaches work with kids of all ages and skill levels. Learn the techniques of shooting, dribbling, passing, and teamwork. Please bring your own basketball. Must wear appropriate clothes and shoes.

Indoor Soccer: Students will be placed in groups according to age and level. Players will enhance their soccer skills and play in scrimmage games. Must wear appropriate clothes and hard wood friendly running shoes (NO soccer shoes).

Fun Sports: "The "Fun Sports" program is a mix of fun and challenging sports activities including volleyball, indoor soccer, kickball.  Camp counselors will explain each sport's rules and set-up practice and warm-up drills; counselors will then referee scrimmage games in each activity.  Students should dress in sports attire, wear gym shoes, and bring a labeled water bottle.  We will be emphasizing hard-work, sportsmanship, and teamwork in each activity."

Our camp introduces different art techniques, styles, and media to help your child unleash their creativity. Our experienced instructors guide your child through fun and engaging projects that foster artistic expression and skill-building. Chess 西洋棋
Our camp is designed for children who love chess or want to learn the game. Our experienced instructors teach children the basics of chess, as well as advanced strategies to help them improve their game.
Eligibility: 1st – 6th grade
Material fee: $20 (to teacher/coach) will be required if your set is not the “Scholastic” (required by coach).

Chinese Instruments 中國樂器
Students will learn about different traditional Chinese instruments – how they work and how to play them. The course is designed such that students will be able to play simple, but familiar songs to increase their interest in Chinese music. Chinese instruments include gu zheng (zither), erhu, percussion etc.
Eligibility: 1st – 6th grade

Chinese Drum 大鼓
Drumming is beneficial to emotion regulation and sensory integration. Students will learn to combine body movements and drumming rhythm together, which can effectively help reduce daily stress. The South Coast Chinese Drum Team is directed and conducted by Mr. He Bin, who took part in the Chinese music creation and recording in both Disneyland in Shanghai and California.
Eligibility: 1st – 6th grade
Material fee: $12 (drum sticks) is required

Fun Sports 趣味球類

 "The "Fun Sports" program is a mix of fun and challenging sports activities including volleyball, indoor soccer, kickball. Admission Policies and Fees

Fees

  • Friendly Reminder: The last day of the registration for each session will on Tuesday, the week before your scheduled class. 

Discounts:

  • All tuition offers a special discount for early registration. Here are the deadlines:
  • March 18 – March 31: 10% off discount of tuition
  • April 1 – April 21: 5% off discount of tuition
  • April 22 – May 5: 3% off discount of tuition

 

Payment

  • Fees are due prior to completion of registration.
  • Payments are accepted via credit cards through our online registration system.
  • Each bounced check is subject to a $30.00 fee.

 

Refund/credit policy:

  • There are no refunds, credits or makeup classes for any absences.
  • All tuition refund requests must be submitted in writing through info@sccca.org.
  • Here are the deadlines:

April 30, 2024 – last day for an eligible refund, minus 10% of tuition program processing fee
May 15, 2024 – last day for an eligible refund, minus 15% of tuition program processing fee
May 31, 2024 – For an eligible refund, minus 40% of tuition program processing fee
After May 31,2024 – No refund at all

  • Any registration fees paid at the time of registration are non-refundable.
  • After submitting the written refund request, please allow 30 days for the refund checks to be processed.
  • Class change requests must be submitted in writing at least one week before the start of the first scheduled class of the course. Class changes, pending availability, are subject to a $20.00 administrative fee.

 

Drop off and pick up:

  • Summer Program operation hours are from 8:00AM to 5:00 PM daily. If you sign up AM session only (operation hours: 8:00-11:50AM), the earliest drop off time will be at 8:00AM. If you sign up PM Session only (operation hours 1:00-5:00PM), the earliest drop off time will be at 12:50PM. The latest pickup time should not over 5pm. A fee of $1 per min will be charged if late pick up occurs.
  • SCCCA reserves the right to withdraw the student from the class if late pick up occurs more than three times.

 

Conditions for service and grounds for termination

Conditions for Service

Parents must agree in writing to abide by the guidelines and rules listed in the registration package. Families and children must meet the following conditions for service.

Ready for the group care program. We do not discriminate against any child on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, sex, marital status of parents. Our goal is to meet the individual needs of each child within the structure of our program while maintaining a safe and healthy environment for all children and staff. Children with special needs will be considered for admission to the program on a case-by-case basis.

 

Grounds for termination when

  • Student poses an actual direct risk of harm to self and others, or cannot be accommodated safely
  • A student is unable to participate in a group care program and needs one to one care. A student or parent exhibits improper, uncivil, disrespectful, abusive, or dangerous behaviors toward others.
  • Students should respect the rights and needs of others and not act in a disruptive manner. student poses an actual direct risk of harm to self and others, or cannot be accommodated safely
  • Students who are unable to participate in a group care program and need one to one care include children with special needs, such as the emotionally, physically or behaviorally (hyperactive) challenged, will be suggested to consider school/center with a nurse/consular for the best benefits and learning outcome of the students.
  • Electronic devices (cell phone/game sets) are prohibited and if carried, will need to be submitted to staff/teacher in the beginning of the program/class and the school/program is not responsible to repair and/or replace the items.
  • Gum is not allowed on school property (indoor/outdoor). Items will be taken away and one day absent from the program will be required.
  • No Foods/intake items sharing of any kind in program hours. 911 will be called for any irregular/emergency symptoms and parents need to repay/reimburse SCCCA/ICS for medical and any other expenses incurred in his /her case.

Disciplinary Methods

Generally, the program teachers and staff use positive reinforcement to work with children. However, if the misbehaviors occur continuously, disciplinary actions will be taken and it may result in the termination of the service.

1st violation—Verbal Warning: Gather and review evidence; meet the student and explain how he/she violates Student Behavior Guidelines; record the incident.
2nd violation—Notify and meet with the student’s parent(s).
3rd violation—Dismissal from the program.

Policy and Acknowledgement

  • Arrival: All children must be accompanied to the designated area and signed in by an adult with his or her full signature
  • Departure: Each child must be signed out by a parent or an authorized adult with his or her full signature. Children are only released with parents or authorized adults (over 18 years old) listed in the school’s contact system. It is parents’ responsibility to provide the program staff with a list of authorized adults or update the information on the school's system on a regular basis. If an unauthorized adult attempts to pick up your child, the program staff member will request to check the unauthorized adults' driver license and will record certain information from it.
