The registration period for the 2024 Irvine mayoral and city council elections has concluded, and this year's number of candidates has significantly increased. The South Coast Chinese Cultural Center will host the "Meet The Irvine Candidates Forum" before the voting day, inviting all candidates to present their politics and seek voter support.
The Irvine mayoral and city council elections are scheduled for November 5. This year, a record 16 candidates have registered for the city council and 7 for the mayoral race (compared to 6 candidates for city council and 5 for mayor in 2022). Candidates come from various industries, making the competition very intense.
To help Irvine residents understand each candidate's platform and cast their votes wisely, the South Coast Chinese Cultural Center will publicly host "Meet The Irvine Candidates Forum". Invited candidates will have the opportunity to present their platforms one by one and answer questions from the audience. The forum will be held on September 7, and community members are encouraged to participate enthusiastically.
This city council election is divided into four districts. The term for the first district is two years, while the remaining three districts have four-year terms. 爾灣市長與市議員選舉將在11月5日舉行，今年登記參選市議員高達16人，7人登記參選市長(2022 年僅有6人登記參選市議員，5 人登記參選市長)，參選人來自各行各業，競爭十分激烈。
為讓爾灣市民瞭解各候選人政見，投下神聖一票，南海岸中華文化中心將公開舉辦亞裔問政會，讓受邀到場的候選人逐一發表政見，並接受到場民眾提問。問政會舉辦日期為9月7日，歡迎社區民眾踴躍參與。
