The "Living and Drawing" Poster Competition, organized by Irvine Chinese School, held its award ceremony on January 25-26 during the Snake Year New Year Celebration.
In addition to votes from teachers, students, and parents, the community was invited to participate, resulting in over a thousand ballots. A total of 298 student submissions were made, with 97 winning awards.
Irvine Chinese School Principal Jennifer Su invited former South Coast Chinese Culture Association president Shiyun Chung to present awards and prizes to the winners in the name of the " Kang Y. Chung Scholarship Fund" Scholarship.
The competition also saw participation from students at Fletcher School in the Orange County School District, with principal Ke Jianing attending to support the winners.
During the ceremony, parents eagerly took photos of their children, and the students' impressive performances received loud applause.
Principal Jennifer Su highlighted that the goal of the activity was to go beyond textbooks and use real-life learning methods to enhance language skills.
By incorporating age-appropriate life themes, students not only had the chance to express their ideas in both writing and speaking Chinese but also gained more interest in learning the language and built confidence.
Throughout the competition, she was impressed to see all students successfully express their views on life in Chinese, both written and spoken—an achievement that reflects the original purpose of the activity.
Principal Jennifer Su encouraged the students, telling them this is just the beginning.
With continued effort, they will be able to communicate freely in Chinese and express their thoughts with ease in the future.

由爾灣中文學校主辦的「寫繪生活」海報競賽票選活動，於1月25日至26日在蛇年迎新慶祝活動中公開舉行了頒獎典禮。
此次比賽除了由師生和家長票選外，還特別開放社區民眾參與投票，最終收到了超過千張選票。共有298件學生作品參與票選，其中97件作品獲得獎項。
爾灣中文學校校長蘇依雯邀請南海岸中華文化協會前理事長鍾希寅，以「鍾張冠洋」獎學金的名義，為所有得獎學生頒發獎狀和獎品。
此外，本次比賽還吸引了來自橙縣學區Fletcher學校的學生參加，該校校長柯嘉寧親自到場為該校的得獎學生喝彩。
在頒獎典禮上，獲獎學生的家長紛紛為孩子拍照留念，而得獎學生的精彩表現也獲得了全場家長的熱烈掌聲。
蘇依雯校長指出，學校設計這項活動的初衷，是希望能突破教科書的限制，通過更貼近生活的學習方式來加強學生的語言學習效果。
活動中融入了各年齡層的生活主題，讓學生不僅能透過中文「我手寫我口」來表達自己的想法，還能進一步激發學生學習中文的興趣，並建立更多的自信心。
蘇校長表示，這次競賽讓她十分欣慰地發現，每位學生都能夠用寫作和口語表達中文來分享他們對生活的看法，這是十分難得的成就，也正是學校和老師設計此活動的最初目的。
最後，蘇校長鼓勵學生們，這僅僅是開始，只要學生持之以恆，未來一定能夠隨心所欲地運用中文與他人溝通，並充分表達自己的想法。
