A short documentary on the original musical "Monkey King" has been completed!
The "Monkey King" was created by conductor He Bin of the South Coast Chinese Orchestra. The entire piece is about 30 minutes long and is divided into five movements, describing the legendary story of Sun Wukong from his birth to his rise as the "Monkey King". The premiere was successfully held on February 18th at the Segerstrom Concert Hall.
We have produced a short film to document the premiere of "Monkey King". The film selects the highlights of the concert hall performance, accompanied by composer He Bin's description of the creative process, and includes behind-the-scenes footage of rehearsals. The South Coast Chinese Orchestra, which performed the entire piece of "Monkey King," is currently enrolling students for its spring session.
